To the Rescue! Los Angeles
April 21, 2018
Paramount Studios Backlot
5555 Melrose Avenue | Hollywood, CA
Our To the Rescue! Los Angeles event benefits The Humane Society of the United States and its Farm Animal Protection campaign. The Humane Society of the United States is the nation’s most effective animal protection organization. Since 1954, The HSUS has been fighting for the protection of all animals through advocacy, education and hands-on programs. In partnership with our affiliates, we rescue and care for tens of thousands of animals each year, but our primary mission is to prevent cruelty before it occurs.
The HSUS is making history for farm animals, reducing the number of animals raised and killed for food by helping large institutions, such as school districts and hospital chains, implement popular campaigns like Meatless Monday. We are also working with major retailers to reduce animal suffering in their supply chains by helping them phase out the worst factory farming practices. And of course, The HSUS routinely conducts undercover investigations into the hidden world of factory farming and slaughter plants, and takes legal action to stop factory farming cruelty. With your support, our investigations and legal actions have led to slaughter plant closures, meat recalls, criminal convictions, and new state and federal laws.
Supporting our Farm Animal Protection campaign, the evening will include a cocktail reception, gourmet vegan dinner and live auction. Honorees are Conrad Carr, receiving the 2018 Humane Hero Award; Mary Beth Sweetland and Whitney Warrington receiving the Undercover Hero award; Latham & Watkins LLP receiving the Corporate Consciousness Award. Special guests and performances still to be announced.
