The Partnership for a Healthier America (PHA) is looking forward to celebrating the 2018 Fit to Celebrate Gala with special attendees, including prominent philanthropists, celebrities, PHA board members, PHA Ambassadors, business leaders, and other PHA supporters. We will present PHA's third annual Catalyst for Change awards, which that will celebrate the leaders who have played a major role in helping PHA ensure that all children are at a healthy weight. Similar to last past years, the evening will have a physical activity focus with elements like Fitness Flair attire, featuring athletic wear and sports teams. The evening will be filled with special surprises, so stay tuned for additional announcements.
2017 FIT TO CELEBRATE GALA HIGHLIGHTS
THE PARTNERSHIP FOR A HEALTHIER AMERICA
America is in the midst of a public health crisis: one in three children is overweight. Rising rates of obesity in children and young adults are fueling increases in diabetes, heart disease, and other chronic conditions. This health crisis undermines academic performance, workplace productivity, military readiness, and diminished quality of life. PHA's goal is to ensure all children -- especially those disproportionately affected -- will live healthier lives, growing up to be adults free from obesity, diabetes, heart disease and other chronic conditions through leveraging the power of the private sector to bring lasting, systemic changes that improve the food supply and increase physical activity.
Founded in 2010 in conjunction with – but independent from – Let’s Move!, PHA is a nonpartisan, nonprofit that is led by some of the nation’s most respected health and childhood obesity advocates. Supporting our effort is our honorary chair Former First Lady Michelle Obama, alongside our honorary vice-chairmen The Honorable William H. Frist, MD, and US Senator Cory A. Booker.
