Art is a catalyst for positive change. Art heals. It stirs the soul. Art fires up the imagination and allows us to reach beyond our mental limits to imagine a better tomorrow. BEST Kids, Inc. will showcase and auction off a wonderful collection of art, including art created by our very own mentees, all to benefit our mentoring programs for Washington, DC’s foster youth.
The ART of the Matter is not just a fundraising event for BEST Kids, but it is a celebration of art that involves our entire BEST Kids family. Several of our mentees and their mentors are participating in a variety of workshops related to the arts including painting, drama workshops, and photography in preparation for this celebration.
Enjoy delectable food, drinks, and live music all while bidding on some great silent auction items. BEST Kids will also be recognizing our annual award winners for their contributions to the agency and the community at-large. You don't wanna miss it!
Thursday, September 28 pm. Event officially begins at 6 pm and ends at 9 pm. Food, drinks, and music will run through 7:30pm and our silent auction will run through 8:30pm. Our event program and live auction will end at 9:00pm.
Location and Transportation
US Navy Heritage Center, 701 Pennsylvania Ave NW
The closest Metro is Archives/Navy Memorial/Penn Quarter on the yellow and green lines and the venue is less than a block from the Metro exit. You can park in the garage located at the PMI Parking Garage located at 875 D Street NW, which is located on D Street between 8th & 9th Streets - directly next to the Caucus Room Entrance. Make sure to bring your ticket to validate for a total cost of $8 for parking.
Mobile Phones & Devices
You'll want to make sure your mobile phones or tablets are fully charged so nothing gets in the way of you participating in our auctions and event program. BEST Kids is going high-tech by going mobile with our ticket sales and silent auction bidding. You can now purchase tickets, and place bids online with your smartphone or mobile device. Don’t worry! Bidding volunteers will be in place throughout the night to assist with the bidding process, should you have any questions.
You can make your check-in a breeze by pre-registering with all of your info. If you bought your ticket and already entered your phone number, email, and credit card info you should be all set. If not, please take a moment to register by clicking on the Register button above. This will allow you to get in on the early bidding as well.
Attire for our event is anything from business casual to cocktail attire. The first couple hours are a standing reception and seating is very limited so make sure to dress comfortably.
