Boston Senior Home Care’s “An Evening by the Sea” — An Immense Success!

Boston Senior Home Care celebrated another year on November 9th, when over 200 of the agency’s supporters gathered for our annual fundraiser at the New England Aquarium. Thanks to the overwhelming support and generosity of countless sponsors, donors, auction supporters, and volunteers, BSHC raised over $170,000! These funds will provide our consumers with the essential services, programs, and items needed to live safely and independently when no other means of support exist.  This initiative is crucial to keeping more of Boston’s elders out of nursing facilities and allowing them to thrive where they want to be…at home.

The evening’s festivities featured a silent auction with over 50 items and a new mobile bidding platform that was the buzz of the night, with supporters bidding both from the event and, for those who could not attend, from their homes. Over 200 guests enjoyed delicious bites and live music by Rich DiMare, all while mingling amongst the unique and serene setting of the New England Aquarium.  Guests were also treated to remarks by Boston Senior Home Care’s CEO, Meg Hogan, and Board President, W. Karl Baker.  There was also a special appearance by City of Boston Commissioner on Affairs of the Elderly, Emily Shea.
